Over 300 Canadian politicians were recently banned from Russia, among them include Perth-Wellington MP John Nater.
Nater has been vocal in both the House and across social media for his support for Ukraine while also calling out Russia for its invasion.
Nater says his ban from Russia is something he takes as an achievement.
“I’m wearing this as a badge of honour that we as Canadians and we as a Parliament are on the right track in holding Putin and his thugs to account.” said Nater.
Nater added the local support for Ukraine including a family in Listowel collecting and donating goods and businesses showing their support is heartening to see and a testament to the community Perth-Wellington is.
