While cases of COVID-19 across Huron-Perth has remained steady, respiratory illness continues to face its issues across the area.
From September 4th to December 31st, there were 121 lab confirmed cases of influenza with nine hospitalizations, one death and one outbreak.
Public health says influenza activity peaked in December but still continues to see cases being reported.
Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Miriam Klassen says Huron-Perth is still experiencing a complicated respiratory illness season which has led to a lot of strain in the local healthcare system.
