A sharp increase across Canada for access to food banks has been no different locally including in Palmerston.
Food Bank usage has risen over 37 per cent in 2023 when compared to previous yearly data.
The Palmerston Food Bank has also reported a sharp increase in requests for food hampers and their grocery costs tripled in the first 6 months of 2023 when compared to 2022.
The food bank continues to ask if they are able to support the food bank by purchasing a box at Foodland.
