Impaired Driving Hits Road Sign and Enters Field

Huron County OPP have charged a South Huron resident with impaired operation following a high speed collision into a farm field.

On June 27th at around 6pm, OPP responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision into a field on Hern Line near McDonald Road in South Huron.

The lone driver was traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control of their vehicle, hit a road sign and entered a farmers field.

The driver left the scene but was found at a nearby residence.

Police spoke with the driver and conducted a road screening device, resulting a failure.

As a result a 56 year old of South Huron has been charged with Dangerous Operation and Operation While Impaired.

The accused will appear in Goderich court on August 14th.
