Impaired driver wrecks vehicle in Clinton

Driver escaped without serious injury but totally truck after it rolled in the ditch

A resident of Clinton totaled his vehicle and is now facing Impaired Operation charges following  a crash that took place this past weekend west of Clinton.

Just after 9pm on Friday, March 19th Huron County OPP and Huron County Paramedics responded to a single vehicle crash on Bayfield Road near Parr Line.

The driver managed to escape serious injuries however his pickup truck was completely demolished after it rolled in the ditch.

Once the driver was medically cleared he was taken into custody for impaired operation.

The driver was subsequently transported to the Huron OPP Detachment where he provided 2 samples of his break to the qualified intoxilizer technician. Both samples were found to be above the legal limit.

A 31 year old male of Clinton has been charged with Impaired Operation and Operation While Impaired blood alcohol concentration 80 plus. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance of April 12th at the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice.
