Impaired Driver takes off from Police in Tractor in Huron East

Officers located suspect pulling his vehicle from the ditch with a Tractor.

Huron County OPP have charged a driver with impaired operation of a vehicle after an incident last weekend in Huron East.

Officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver that operating a pickup truck in an erratic manner on Cranbrook Road.

Upon arriving at the scene officers located the suspect vehicle getting pulled out of the ditch on Perrie Line. Further investigation revealed the suspect had fled his vehicle and was now driving a farm tractor.

About an hour after the call officers were able to locate and stop the tractor. An officer spoke with the driver and ordered them to ground level however the driver refused and drove away.

The officer followed and observed as the driver drove into a ditch and then into a field. Officers apprehended the suspect running on foot toward Moncrief Road where he was arrested and taken into custody.

A 33 year old male of Morris-Turnberry has been charged with impaired operation, flight from a police officer and refusal to comply with demand.

They have since been released from custody with a March 7th date in a Goderich Court.
