The update comes after Environment Canada issued the same for much of southern Ontario including Perth County.

Temperatures are expected t be from 30 to 32 degrees with humidex values up to 40 degrees celcius.

Night time temperatures around 21 degrees will provide little relief from the heat.

HPPH reminds residents of a few tips including to drink plenty of cool liquids like water, reschedule outdoor activities, wear loose fitting light coloured breathable fabric clothing and take cook showers or baths to feel refreshed.

They say to call 911 or your local emergency number if you or someone you are caring for has a high body temperature and is either unconscious, confused or has stopped sweating.
