Seaforth’s annual Huron Harvest event won’t be returning next fall, with the organizing committee citing poor attendance as the reason they’re foregoing future celebrations.
This year’s event at the agriplex had 150 people in attendance, which the Seaforth Huron Harvest committee says was way down compared to pre-pandemic numbers.
The Oct. 2 event saw vendors including Maria’s Wok n Dine, Grassroots Woodfired Pizza, Junction 56 Distillery, Cornerfield Wine Company, Maelstrom Winery and Square Brew serve up goods as attendees were treated to live music by the Janna Leduc Band.
Despite the low attendance, the committee was still able to raise over $1,500 to donate to Huron Residential Hospice, which they presented with a cheque on Nov. 30.
In another fundraising efforts, the committee is auctioning off leftover glassware from the event, with all proceeds going to the hospice.
