The Humane Society of Kitchener-Waterloo and Stratford-Perth say they’ve reached a critical mode and are feeling more strained over the summer.
A large volume animals are expected the come into both shelter locations with 345 animals currently in their care.
The Humane Society is making a plea to residents if they can to support different programs or to adopt, donate or become a foster.
Calla James, Director of Community Engagement and Outreach for the humane society says they have almost 140 pets on their waiting list needing help as well as receiving a high number of calls from pet owners needing help.
