The Huron Perth Catholic District School Board has seen a series of successful summer programs for students with Special Education needs.
Two in person camps dubbed Connection and Engagement offered students a camp experience while building peer relationships and supporting and maintaining individualized target goals and priorities to ensure a smooth transition back to school.
One camp was held at St Michael Catholic Secondary and another at St Josephs Catholic Elementary.
During camp, students from various schools participated in a wide range of activities such as arts & crafts, music, baking, water play, cooperative games, and team-building activities, all while keeping connection, engagement, inclusion and peer supports at the forefront of all programming.
