Howick township has approved its 2023 budget.
Council took a look at various options and settled on a tax increase of 5.478 per cent.
This translates to an increase of around $95 for the average house in Howick.
In order to keep the tax increase at its level, some money was required to be taken out of reserves for the year.
While some in council have expressed they wished the tax increase could have been kept lower, they are still pleased calling the near 5.5 per cent increase realistic.
