Hospitals Bracing for the Worst of COVID-19’s Second Wave

Some hospitals have taken in COVID-19 patients from London and the GTA

Locally, most hospitals are treating few COVID-19 patients however it isn’t the case when it comes to bigger cities.

Currently 1674 are being treated in hospital from COVID-19 in Ontario, 385 of them in ICU. Hospitals in the GTA are beyond their capacity and hospitals in Huron-Perth are preparing to help both locally and provincially.

Andrew Williams, CEO of the Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance says he won’t be surprised if they are asked to take in patients.

Some patients in London have already been moved to Huron-Perth while Grand River Hospital has taken in two patients from the GTA.
