A horse trainer operating out of Puslinch has been suspended for two years for alleged horse cruelty.

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario has suspended the license of Standardbred trainer Anthony Beaton.

The AGCO was made aware of Beaton engaging in conduct which compromised equine safety and/or welfare in October who then immediately suspended his license pending a final determination of his eligibility for a license.

An inspection revealed Beateon had excessively used a whip on a yearling he was training, committing an act of cruelty and engaging in misconduct.

Beaton’s license has now been fully suspended until October 12th 2025.
