A historically high 31 patients were admitted to Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance hospitals in November with influenza.
Of those admissions, 14 of them were children 6 years old or younger.
The alliance says they normally only see up to two admitted cases of influenza in the month of November.
In a release, Dr. Kim Gilmour, Primary Care Clinical Lead says viruses are running rampant this winter, but a large influx of emergency department visits that may be unnecessary.”
