A long-term care facility in Harriston was unable to meet the Ministry of Long-Term Care legislation that requires air condition in all residents rooms passed in 2021.
The Caressant Care home is the only one of the eight in Wellington County to be non-compliant as of the June 22nd deadline.
They were notified of the requirement on April 1st. The home has 46 rooms currently occupied by 73 residents.
They also operate facilities in Arthur and Fergus with those two meeting the air conditioning requirement.
The reasoning for the missed deadline from the facility was scheduling conflicts and supply chain challenges.
Across the Province the number of non-compliant facilities sits at 90.
