The public is being invited to stay up to date on an environmental assessment in Harriston as part of the Harriston Flood Mitigation Project.
The town in partnership with the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority has completed the Harriston Flood Mitigation Study in response to historic flooding in the Harriston sub-watershed and facilitate the implementation of practical corrective actions to address flooding in a phased approach.
Phase 1 includes the preliminary design of a downstream floodplain hydraulic improvements and downstream river channel improvements.
A public info centre to accept input on the project is being held on June 26th from 3-5pm at the Harriston Community Complex with residents encouraged to attend.
