The cyber attack affecting St Marys has come with its warning from those behind the attack, to pay up or it will share sensitive information.
According to an online publisher which looks into Cybersecurity issues, a group known as LockBit has taken credit for the recent attack against St Marys which began to show this past Friday.
Officials have said they’ve hired on Cybersecurity consultants to help in response of the attack. Critical municipal services such as fire, police, water and transit are still running normally.
The Canadian Centre for Cyber Security had seen a total of 304 ransomware attacks against Canadians in 2021.
