The ground has broken for a new addition at the Elora Centre for the Arts.
The breaking was held on Thursday with the Centre joined by Mayor Shawn Watters and the Supportive Arts Program which offers art classes for those with disabilities.
This fall the Centre for the Arts is expanding with 3500 square feet to be used as a multi space for community gatherings and performances, be fully accessible including universal washrooms and have a new servery style kitchen.
Fundraising has been a key part of the expansion with 84 per cent of the $4.5 million goal already being raised.
