GRCA Warning of Blue-Green Algae at Belwood Lake

 

The Grand River Conservation Authority is warning the public of blue-green algae at Belwood lake reservoirs near Fergus.

Signage has been posted by the conservation authority of the current conditions with Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health and the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks being notified.

The GRCA has recommended the public to avoid contact with the algae, not to eat fish from the lake and not to use the water for drinking or any other purpose.
