Demolition at the Gorrie Dam is now underway.
The old mill building will soon be demolished as well after a flood in 2017 which caused much damage to the aging structures. The flood was the same which caused around $11 million in damages in Harriston.
GSS Engineering wrote up a draft concept plan for decommissioning the dam.
The design plan includes what would be best suited for the Gorrie site while also having continued recreational and community green spaces.
Work at the dam is expected to be completed in mid-August.
