Wellington County OPP says the theft of a tractor was thwarted thanks to the help from some Good Samaritans, and a young person is now facing several charges.
Officers responded on Sunday to reports of a theft in progress. It was reported that a tractor was being stolen from an address on Sideroad 21 in Mapleton Township.
The complainants were able to prevent the person from leaving the scene until officers arrived.
As a result of the investigation, a 16-year-old Arthur resident has been charged with theft under $5,000, underage drinking and underage cannabis use.
The accused is set to appear in a Guelph court at a later date.
