A Gallery Stratford member has had their membership revoked after harassment allegations.
Gallery Stratford says on December 11th a visitor to the gallery harassed a teenage student employee working at the information desk as a trustee heard the visitor screaming at the young employee from the other end of the gallery.
The visitor was asked to leave and when they refused, the gallery contacted police with an issued notice of trespass given to the person who is no longer allowed on the property.
The Gallery however says this is far from the only case they’ve seen in recent weeks.
They add the new Interim Director has been harassed by a former staff member, the Interim Director also being harassed by members of the public who ignored requests to leave the gallery and a young staff member receiving unwanted texts from angry members.
In response measures have been taken such as postponing some Gallery activities, hiring a firm to install security cameras and creating a governance policy on zero tolerance.
