Dr. David Williams, Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health has confirmed the provinces first reported blood clot in a patient after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine.
The patient is a male in his 60’s who has since received treatment and recovering at home.
This is the fourth reported blood clot in Canada from the 1.1 million doses administered so far.
Ontario intends to keep offering the AstraZeneca vaccine to residents 40 and over at select pharmacies in the province.
