Feds & Province clarifies delivery timeline & criteria for first to get Covid 19 vaccine

Vaccine should be arriving in the 1st Quart of 2021.

The Federal Government discussed vaccine availability today in their daily broadcast update. The criteria were outlined included who would be initially vaccinated once they become available. The Federal Minister of Health Teresa Tam says there are multiple criteria.

“We know that with underlying medical conditions puts people at higher risk. But when we analyze the underlying medical conditions and the age it still comes out that the age is still the most important.”

The delivery windows given for initial batch of vaccines to start immunizing Canadians was the 1st quarter of 2021. This would mean any date up to March 31st, 2021. Anita Anand, Minister of Public Services and Procurement later clarified that this would be following Health Canada approval.

The Provincial Government made an announcement lockstep with their Federal counterparts to outline how they were getting prepared to distribute it. Head of the COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution Task Force Gen. Rick Hillier echoed something he knows all Canadians are thinking…

“We know that the men and women of Ontario are tired. They all want to get back to a regular life. They want their families back to a regular life. They want the economy to restart. They want back into the schools and not have to worry about the things that frighten us right now.

I am just the same.  I am tired. I want this to be over with. But we know this is going to take a while.”
