Election Signs Continue to be Damaged and Vandalized

As the election campaigns continue across the country, both police and candidates are seeing an increase in damaged or vandalized signs.

Liberal candidate Brendan Knight wrote Tuesday morning on social media almost 100 signs in Perth-Wellington have been lost due to damage or theft.

This has also been seen in Huron County as election signs have been found to be damaged near Gorrie.

Police are reminding residents its a criminal offense to remove or damage any official election signs on public property.

Complaints or allegations of wrongdoing regarding election signs during an election can be done by writing to the Office of the Commissioner of Canada Elections.
