Development of Eden Grove has been a hot button topic as of late, including at Perth County council.
The site itself has seen plenty of history from the 1960’s when the centre was closed in 1998.
Since then there has been two failed attempts at restoring the site both in 2001 and 2010.
Today, Eden Grove may look to be the purpose of a development project of the property for the Mennonite community.
Juliane Von Westerholt says the vision for the site is to become an area to grow and work.
“To create a masterplan community that would be a place where people can live, work and age in place.” said Westerholt.
The property itself is designated as agriculture as part of the Perth County Official Plan but certain changes are being proposed.
Areas of concern for development such as the woodlot is reassured by Westerholt that it would not be affected by the development and the plans they have are already permitted on the space.
