Wellington-Guelph Drug Strategy has issued a health alert after 8 drug poisonings in the last 5 days.
WGDS says the unregulated drug supply currently circulating in the community is more unpredictable and toxic than usual with substances not often matching what users are expecting.
This mismatch has increased the risk of drug poisoning, adverse reactions or unwanted effects.
WGDS says users should test their substances, carry naloxone, avoid using alone and start low and go slow.
