For the 2nd year in a row, the Drayton Fair has been cancelled due to the pandemic though some events plan to go on.
The Drayton-Mapleton Agricultural Society announced the cancellation on Monday but events such as a takeout ham and scalloped potatoe dinner on April 3rd sold out to great success.
The Agriculture Society will go forward with a smoke porkchop dinner on August 7th, details will be provided closer to the date.
Some fair favourites such as the pet show and baby show will still go on, but in a virtual format with extra categories in the baby show for the missed year.
The new car rally will allow participants to enjoy the sights of Mapleton with a final event being the Drayton Fall Harvest Festival on September 18th.
Largest vegetable contests are also on the table with the sunflower and pumpkin growing contests.
Donors for the festival will be apart of the wall of sponsors to be created to recognize their generosity for the Drayton Fair.
