Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Sunday night that some of the first shipments of the Covid-19 vaccine had arrived in Canada.

The arrival is part of the initial shipment of 30 thousand doses of the Pfizer vaccine that Canada has ordered. The plane touched down at Mirabel International Airport in Montreal. The vaccines will now be sent to the 14 distribution sites across the country.

The plan among provinces is to start vaccinating long-term care residents and front-line workers starting later this week. Ontario is set to administer at least 6000 doses of the vaccine as early as Tuesday.
