Wellington County is reminding residents its best to be prepared in the event emergencies arrive.

As part of Emergency Preparedness Week the county says this is a great time to build or refresh your emergency kit and make sure you have what’s needed to last 72 hours without power or running water.

An emergency kit should include essentials like water, food, a flashlight, batteries and medication.

Depending on the household you may also need goods for pets or those with disabilities or special needs.
