Centre Wellington council has given the green light for a new pedestrian crossing to be part of the St David Street North reconstruction in Fergus.
The crossing will be added at intersection of St David Street North and St George Street.
The project is being done in multiple phases starting in spring 2024 with phase 1 with work on St Andrew Street to Garafraxa Sreet and phase 2 will see Garafraxa Street to Edinburgh Avenue for spring 2025.
The project is expected to be finished by the end of 2025 and some finishing work for 2026.
