North Perth council didn’t really need much time to approve a vendor to head the work of removing the current play structure at the Atwood Lions Park as well as the instillation of a new play structure.

Park N Water LTD of Mono will take on the work being among one of six who submitted during an RFP which closed earlier this month.

Manager of Facilities Jeff Newell says this project follows with other park projects the municipality is working on.

“This will be our 3rd playground structure of the year. We’ve had our Memorial Park one and another at Optimist Park” said Newell.

Its hope to get the work going in the fall once students go back to school so the work doesn’t get in the way of students using the play structure during the summer.

The work assigned to Park N Water comes at a cost of $283,324.60 excluding taxes.
