Council Approves 2024 Attainable Housing Community Improvement Plan

North Perth council has given the green light to fully adopt the North Perth Attainable Housing Community Improvement Plan for 2024.

The CIP will help guide the municipality to put funds forward to private landowners to support development projects with a list of incentive programs including the Development Charges Rebate Program, Commercial and Renting Housing Conversion and Expansion Grant.

Manager of Strategic Initiatives, Jessica McLean shared the plan for the incentive programs to be used this year with an application intake period for August 28th-Decemeber 2nd.

“3 of the CIP incentive programs for 2024 so the Planning and Building Permit Fee Grant, the Additional Residential Dwelling Unit Grant and the Tax Equivalency Grant or the TEIG as we often refer to it. ” said McLean.

As set in the 2024 budget, $75,000 has been set aside to support the CIP Financial Incentive Programs with funding for 2025 to be considered during future budget talks.
