North Perth council has given the green light for a contract for work at the Listowel Kinsmen Outdoor Pool repairs.
The pool which was first constructed in 1965 is showing its age and nearing its end of life.
A renovation repair is now required to extend its life until a new pool can be completed within the next 5-6 years.
The municipality took in proposals from contractors to complete the renovations and get the work going.
When asked about the timeline to be ready for the year Manager of Facilities, Jeff Newell says overall they should be on track to have everything in order for the swimming season.
“We have a deadline for the pool being filled by June 6th which gives us an opportunity to have the pool inspected and ready to go.” said Newell.
Council approved the contract of $153,270 to Acapulco Pools Limited on Kitchener.
