Community Living Raises Concerns to Matthew Rae

In an effort to advocate for sustainable funding for Community Living and the developmental sector as a whole, Community Living North Perth welcomed MPP Matthew Rae to their space this morning.

Community Living has pushed to increased support as since 1992 they have seen only a 2 per cent increase in the budget from the government but inflation has reached over 50 per cent in that time frame.

Rae heard from those who rely on Community Living as well as those heavily involved with its work.

Rae says what he saw and heard this morning will be something he brings forward to the government.

“It was great to meet with Community Living North Perth and hear the important work they do in the community and I look forward to sharing those personal stories we heard with Minister Parsa (Minster of Children, Community and Social Services) when legislature returns on Monday” Rae

Community Living launched a social media campaign earlier this month encouraging supports to use the hashtag #5tosurvive and tag Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae with hopes action can be taken with a new budget coming which will see support for the DS sector.
