Ontario public school students are two or three months behind in learning due to school closures according to a recent analysis from the COVID-19 Science Table.

Ontario students have seen the longest time of school closures across Canada at 20 weeks, ahead of Prince Edward Island at 19 weeks as reported since May 15th.

With Ontario students not returning to in person learning for the month of June, the full closure time will reach 26 weeks.

The advisory table says there would need to be additional education funding for the next school year in hopes to address and hopefully remove the skill gap which has been caused by online learning for elementary school students.
