The South Bruce Grey Health Centre has announced the Chesley Hospital Emergency Department will see a permanent reduction in hours.
Starting at 5pm until 7am the following morning every night, the hospital will see this reduction in hours until further notice.
The reason for this change is due to a critical shortage of nurses.
The Chesley Emergency Department will be staffed from 7am to 7pm to ensure patients will be cleared from the department as needed.
The staffing issues will also impact this weekend as the emergency department will close at 5pm today then reopen on Monday at 7am. The inpatient unit will remain open.
