Howick ON- On August 4th 2022, members from the Huron Perth OPP Community Street Crimes Unit followed a vehicle that left a residence in Wroxeter to go to a gas station in Harriston and completed a traffic stop.
Officers noticed the license plate attached to the vehicle was not registered nor authorized to be on the vehicle.
Upon a further and closer examination, officers noted that the license plate had been altered.
Upon checking the actual license plate number police had soon learned the license plate had recently been stolen.
While speaking with occupants officers also observed suspected methamphetamine inside the vehicle.
Both occupants were placed under arrest and a search incident to arrest resulted in police seizing suspected methamphetamine with an estimated value of 4,600.
Additionally police seized a pellet rifle and pellet handgun from the vehicle.
As result, a 29 year old woman from Wroxeter and a 33 year old man from North Perth have been charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession of weapons along with several other charges.
Both suspects remain in custody and have scheduled court dates in August at the Ontario Court Of Justice in Goderich.
