On October 17th around 7:40am Wellington County OPP responded to a 911 call from a residence on Highland Road in Fergus.
When they arrived they found a 59 year old female suffering some stab wounds. The woman was transported to a hospital and has since been released. Police arrested a 27 year old Centre Wellington Township resident and has been charged with attempted murder and remains in custody.
The victim and accused were known to each other.
