The Township of Centre Wellington offered up tips for proper snow removal and preparing their properties for a Winter Storm.
In the post to Social Media they say that disposing of snow onto Township roads is not permitted under the Highway Traffic Act and may lead to charges.
They also say the Boulevard Garden Policy means that means sidewalks and the areas around them are not permitted for things such as plants and rocks within 18 inches of the sidewalk. They say it creates dangerous situates and damage for sidewalk clearing equipment and sweepers.
Finally the Township says all basketball and hockey nets must be stored off the road to allow for safe snow clearing. They add they must be 3 meters from the edge of the road or curb to allow for removal of snow from the road or sidewalk, provide room for snow storage and decrease the chance of them making contact with plow equipment.
