Centre Wellington’s Healthy Growth Advisory Committee met Wednesday morning.

Currently they’re working on a plan to get better affordable housing to the area. Early reports showed in the town housing continues to be too expensive for residents.

Greg Jones with Skyline says there are many factors as to why housing prices are spiking in Centre Wellington.

“Specific to Centre Wellington, you’ve got affluent retirees, communters, seasonal workers, a lot of GTA buyers seeking more space in lower density housing.” said Jones

According to Skyline reports, 83 percent of buyers cannot afford the average resale home with 56 percent of renters unable to afford a 2 bed apartment.
