The Township of Centre Wellington is advising residents that its Water Services Department will be conducting maintenance work at Fergus Well #7.
The work they say may create a disturbance to the water distribution system in the North West area of Fergus. Water at homes may be discoloured during and after the work.
They say it is caused from the iron and manganese that is naturally occurring in the groundwater.
When the system is flushed, minerals that have settled in the system can be stirred up.
They say if it persists they urge to turn on a cold water tap nearest your water meter and allow the water to flush slowly for several minutes until it runs clear.
