Centre Wellington has acquired a strategic downtown Fergus property.
140 St Patrick Street West, a 0.24 acre site includes an existing structure and gives the township plenty to work with for future use under consideration including for parking.
The price was listed at $1,407,515 with the township putting in $667,515 and the remaining $740,000 being provided by donation.
With the donation, the township is providing naming rights for the McCabe family.
CAO Dan Wilson says acquiring this property gives the Township a rare opportunity to thoughtfully plan for future needs in a highly visible downtown location.
