It was a big weekend in Brussels for the Tigers 51st Annual Men’s Invitational Fastball Tournament.
The yearly event draws in teams from the Huron County Fastball League as well as other teams across the province. Teams from Kitchener, Hamilton, Delaware, Simcoe and more came down to take part.
Games were held at the Brussels and Ethel Diamond and all kicked off on Friday night with the Tigers shining 2-0 over the Harwood Corners.
The Tigers took some time off to rest who weren’t back in action until the 10th match of the weekend who smoked Dundalk 9-1 and there was no slowdown at all who blanked the Walton Brewers in game 22.
Dundalk jumped into the D Finals who took down Delaware 9-0.
In the C Division it was the Hamilton Pirates 2-1 over the Kitchener Selects.
Tavistock took on Georgian with a 12-4 win in the B Final.
The tournament was a big one for the hosting Tigers who in the A Final, blanked Simcoe 7-0.
The Brussels Tigers say overall the tournament was another well run year with volunteers helping, teams showing off great skills with both returning and new teams coming in.
The 52nd Annual tournament is slotted to run July 19th-21st 2024.
