Big Brothers Big Sisters of Listowel is still keeping the call out for volunteers with a specific focus on getting more big brothers to act as a mentor for kids.
Right now the average wait time for a little brother to be paired up is two years with Listowel having 4 on the wait list.
Executive Director Rhea Birk says when it comes down to being a mentor, there isn’t really anything specific they are looking for.
“You can have a variety of different interests. There is people that are into sports or gaming. What you’ll be doing with our mentor is sports, crafts, helping with homework and making a positive impact in their life” said Birk.
