An Arthur resident has lost $500,000 after being the victim of an investment scam.
On August 18th at around 9:30am, Wellington County OPP received a report of the money lost.
The victim was said to start investing with an online firm in February this year and by August had already put in $500,000 but when the victim tried to cash out their investment they discovered the money was gone and phone numbers no longer in service and emails left unanswered.
Wellington County OPP continue to urge the public to stay educated and informed to reduce the risk of being a victim of fraud.
