Apartment Building Discussion Hits Council

A discussion on more housing in North Perth will hit the council chambers tonight.

North Perth will look into the approval of a site plan to develop a mixed use site of 1.85 hectares of lot area for two 90 unit 6 storey apartment buildings.

The units will be a mix of bachelor, one bedroom and two bedroom units.

Included in the land will also be a pickeball court, playground and bbq area in the design.

A commercial building is also being proposed along the Mitchell Road South and Twamley Street frontages with 295 surface parking spaces with 232 for residential use and 63 for commercial.

As it stands, its recommended council approve the site plan in the report.
