The St Pauls Lutheran Anglican Church and Knox Presbyterian Church are holding a Stuff the Truck event taking place next month.
St Pauls who were the host last year came out to a big success in support for the Salvation Army Community Food Bank.
Knox will be host the this year with two trucks on site to fill with goods as well as two food trucks setup to serve those who attend.
Debb Ritchie who’s helping lead this event says local businesses are already getting involved to help keep the food bank shelves full.
“Stacey Clark from Kempston & Werth she is stepping up and challenging other real estate agents in the community that anytime they sell a house or have a house closing in June that they donate a food item to the food bank. Stacey will do a bag of potatoes every time there’s a closing or sale she has and I’m hoping other organizations, groups, schools and workplaces will challenge each other to do somewhat of the same thing.” said Ritchie.
The Stuff the Truck event will start accepting donations on June 5th at 6pm at the side parking lot of the Knox Presbyterian Church.
A gathering with song and praise of favourite hymns will take place at 7:30pm.
