Improvement continues to be seen in EQAO tests results for the Avon Maitland District School Board.

When compared to numbers from the province, grade 3 AMDSB students exceeded the average in reading, writing and math.

In grade 6, students were slightly below the average in reading and writing but achievement in those measures were still high.

Grade 9 math showed students below the average but had larger gains overall while literacy in grade 10 the board closed the gap and is now on par with the province.

“These results confirm our dedication to empowering our educators with research-based strategies known to impact students directly. Our in-classroom supports provided by our board-level teams also enable our educators to continually improve the literacy and numeracy support that we provide to our students.” said CEO Graham Shantz.
