The potential amalgamation of Minto Minor Hockey and Drayton Minor Hockey has not received the required votes to proceed.
On a post to the Drayton Defenders website the vote was 52 percent for and 48 percent against.
With Minto’s membership it was 76 percent for and 24 percent against.
To move forward a 67% for from both centres was required.
There were 120 votes cast in Drayton and 187 in Minto.
The combined organization would have been called the Mapleton Minto Minor Hockey Association.
It would have meant teams in the expanded areas would have 3 rinks to play & practice within 20 minutes of each other.
